January Photo a Day: #21 Reflection

I was the girl in high school who claimed would never marry . . .

Now married for 15+ years, my husband and marriage are what I cherish and am grateful for in my life. Life turns you into a hypocrite, but sometimes in a good way.

I bought this ChiaoGoo amish yarn swift at JoAnn.com with a Jo-Ann gift card from my DH. My kids were tired of helping me unwind sock yarn from the hank.

Movie Monday: Downton Abbey

Happy New Year! The first Movie Monday post of 2012 is dedicated to PBS Masterpiece Theater series Downton Abbey. After listening to all the hype, my teen and I finally watched the first season of "Downton Abbey" over winter vacation. Initially, I refused to watch "Downton Abbey" because I felt lukewarm about Robert Altman's Gosford Park (written by Julian Fellowes). Also, the subplot of "Downton Abbey" involves the Titanic and I am not a fan of the James Cameron film either.

It turns out, the Titanic is rarely mentioned, "Downton Abbey" is not a rehashing of Upstairs Downstairs and my teen prefers "Downton Abbey" to "Gossip Girl." We are hooked on "Downton Abbey" and await the Season 2 premiere on PBS January 8th.

Downton Abbey Season 1 available on PBS online, Netflix Instant, Amazon VOD, and iTunes
