Knitting and Drinking - TJ's Blankie & Mighty Leaf Tea

After a one year break from knitting, I've cast on to finish baby gifts for babies who are now toddlers. This blankie for baby TJ is my first attempt knitting a blanket. The pattern is Super Easy Baby Blanket by Whitney Van Nes from The Purl Bee. The yarn is Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Lime, Seaspray and Stone. The entire blanket is knit in garter stitch. This Super Easy Baby Blanket is the perfect pattern for a knitting newbie or a knitter trying to get back on the needles.
While knitting, I've been drinking Mighty Leaf Green Tea Tropical. I love this tea after tasting at Nordstrom Cafe. Green Tea Tropical is sweet and fruity - no sugar needed. Mighty Leaf Teas are expensive ($8 for 15 tea bags), but a welcome indulgence after a long day.

If you are a knitter or crocheter check out Ravelry a website for the knit and crochet community. I am on Ravelry = parenthood21. Happy knitting!

Parenthood in the 21st Century Blog's 1st Anniversary

Japanese Kagami mochi symbolizes good luck in the New Year

Today is the 1st anniversary of the Parenthood in the 21st Century blog. 2010 was a transitional year switching from a SAHM to a working mom with a new business. I took up blogging, cycling and knitting as hobbies, but honestly feel half-assed about what I have accomplished. This year I am committed to doing a better job as a career mom, blogger and cyclist. Thank you to my readers who have been patient, loyal, and supportive. Happy New Year to you and your families. I have a good feeling about 2011 - for all of us.
