Higashi Honganji Obon 2012
Here are some photos from the Higashi Obon in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Obon odori is a buddhist tradition similar to Mexican Day of the Dead. Obon season in Los Angeles happens in the summer.

Back to the Drawing Board
Thanks for your patience. I have been AWOL after a minor app setback. Typically, I save blog post or ideas in my iPhone using the Notes app. The Notes app was convenient since I always have my smartphone in hand.
To my horror, all my notes were wiped clean without warning. I should have emailed the notes to myself as a back up, but never did.
Now I am back to the old system of pen, pencil and pocket Moleskine. I have learned my lesson. If you are dependent on the Apple Notes app, please back your notes up. I sure wish I had.

Finished Object Friday: First Sweater
Today's finished object is the first sweater I ever knit. This Seamless Yoked Baby Sweater pattern was a test knit using stashed Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Berry. There are mistakes on the sleeves and bottom trim. One sleeve has an extra garter ridge and the sweater is missing a second row of decor trim that should match yoke. The pattern did not have clear instructions for knitting the sleeves and I would not have been able to figure it out without being able knit a pair of socks first. Although this sweater is a bit wonky, it is a relief to have accomplished a garment other than accessories for a change. Happy knitting!
